Week of October 28 - Nov 1st

It's Spirit Week at CMS! Take a look at my previous post to see what to wear!

This week in Language Arts we are working hard to determine our prime suspects and build our case in our mystery books. We have also been learning about cause and effect and key words that signal a cause and effect relationship. October book projects are due Thursday and October Monthly Minutes will be due this Friday.
JS Skye, author of Flurry the Bear books
Last week we were able to meet author J.S. Skye. He has written novels about the adventurous Flurry Bear. He spoke with us and took the time to answer our questions about his books, his life, and his ideas. He also personally autographed Flurry the Bear posters for each 4th grader. Visit Flurry the Bear website to learn more. Rumor has it that if you write Flurry the Bear a letter, he will respond...

In Science we are studying plant classification. We have learned how plants are classified and have been discussing the different types of leaves. We will be learning about dichotomous keys and using them to identify trees and leaves. On Friday, we will do a few fall crafts with leaves.

Please keep in mind that parent-teacher conferences are November 5th & 7th. Please call the office to schedule a time that best suits your schedule.

Have a fabulous week!
