We have officially begun our Mystery Unit in reading. We have been studying mystery vocabulary and using the thesaurus to find synonyms and antonyms to expand our knowledge of mystery terms. You can find a complete list on Quizlet. In our detective case files, we are keeping a list of the clues and possible suspects in our mystery books. We are also investigating the elements of a mystery.
Last week, in Science, we learned about nonfiction text features and how they help us understand nonfiction. Today we used our Science books to hunt for certain text features in a scavenger hunt. We will be using our books to read and understand about classification as we begin our Life Science unit.
